This document is being developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Avionics Division, AS-5B-2, Operating System Application Program Interface (OS API) Working Group. The intent of the OS API Working Group is not to duplicate, but expand on the work that has been done and is currently being done in regards to OS API standardization. The aim is to address the avionics community and possibly address other real-time embedded applications. The initial target for the requirements is for embedded real-time Ada application programs with multi-level and uni-level security and non secure systems. The aim is not to preclude the use of other languages or the use of mixed languages. The application programs will execute on general purpose processors. Applications for special purpose processors will be addressed in the future.
