This SAE Recommended Practice establishes equipment and test procedures for determining the performance of spark arrester exhaust systems of multiposition engines used in hand-held portable applications. It is not applicable to spark arresters used in vehicles or stationary equipment.This document provides a method of testing to evaluate the fire ignition potential of exhaust systems of small multiposition portable engines.
