Scope:

This specification establishes general design, performance and test requirements for mechanical geared rotary actuators intended to be used for application to position control surfaces in response to manual or automatic power control system inputs. This specification is to be used as a guide in preparing a detail specification for a particular mechanical geared rotary actuator applications. Mechanical geared rotary actuators are planetary geared devices typically having a rotary shaft input and rotary shaft input and rotary outputs. These actuators may be configured to transmit torque and shear loads. This paragraph should describe the actuator's function in the system. It should define all applicable structural, mechanical, and electrical interfaces. A list of associated equipment should be added using part and assembly identifying numbers and who is responsible for them
