This ARD is intended to broadly cover all aspects of the fiber-optic interconnection system needed for diverse applications within the aerospace industry. At present, it is primarily at statement of the problem areas that have surfaced within this industry. The eventual objective is to reach a consensus on issues of industry requirements and architectural concepts that may further the preparation of standards and specifications for interconnection components that can service the unique needs of aerospace applications. This information shall be considered nonpertinent one year following publication unless revised and reissues by SAE AS-3.
