This SAE Standard specifies the general and dimensional requirements for hi-head hex cap screws (formerly "finished hex bolts"). Hi-head hex cap screws are intended primarily for use in the heavy construction and industrial equipment industry. The increase in head heights over those of hex cap screws assures good wrenchability where frequent servicing is necessary, where high torquing is a requirement, or where wear on the screw head is a problem.
